Domain Transfers to Penguin Internet Ltd
We have received a number of notifications of .uk domains that have been transferred to us from other registrars, however, do not appear to have domain transfer requests for these domain names. This means that whilst the domain name is on our TAG, this is not stored in the system for administration and billing purposes and our concern is that this means that any domains belonging to your own customers who have updated their domains to our tag PENGUIN will not be billed for any renewals and so subsequently risk losing their domain names. This is of course something that we would like to avoid, as we are sure you feel also.
For any domains that have transferred to us without a domain transfer request or notification from yourselves, we may need to contact the domain owner directly to arrange for the domains to be added to the system in their own profile as we have an obligation to the domain owner to make sure that their domain does not have any downtime. Therefore, if you could ensure that you let us know any domains that have been transferred urgently, we would be most grateful.
If you have arranged for any of your customers to transfer their domains to us but have not submitted a domain transfer request for this, please do let us know so that any outstanding domains can be allocated to the relevant profile to ensure that these are available for you to manage and also for billing purposes. This is particularly important from the domain owner perspective as we charge considerably less than Nominet directly.
If you have domains that you wish to transfer to us so that your customer can benefit from our low cost domain pricing (we charge only £5.86+VAT for 2 years for .uk domain names) the procedure is very simple.
From within your client area at
http://www.penguin-uk.com/clients you would need to go to Order then Transfer Domain. You will be able to insert the relevant domain name accordingly as you would if ordering a new domain name. Once this has been submitted, this is immediately entered into the system as Pending Transfer which is then activated once we have received notification that the transfer has been completed. As there is no charge for transferring a .uk domain to us, any invoice issued at this stage will be a nil value. You will then be invoiced for any renewal invoices accordingly and can manage the domain name via your client area accordingly.
If you wish to transfer any other types of domain name, the procedure is very similar. With a non .uk domain name, we need to submit a renewal request to the registry in order to transfer the domain name, therefore this would incur a charge for 1 year registration. This is of course added onto the domain name itself and so you benefit from an additional registration year.
